Ancient Lunar Valentine

November 19, 1969, and EVA 1 of Apollo 12. Conrad & Bean are on their way to a planned survey of Middle Crescent Crater as Al Bean stops to examine this heart-shaped secondary crater. Pete Conrad, facing away, examines nearby features of the flat expanse of far-eastern Oceanus Procellarum [AS12-47-6938HR-NASA/ASJ].

Not to be outdone by serendipity from the now-supposedly by-gone Apollo era, Mark Robinson, principal investigator for the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) team at Arizona State University posted the above high-resolution LRO Narrow-Angle Camera image very late on Valentines Day (American Mountain Standard Time)
