"As part of the LCROSS payload, NASA has selected the ultra-ruggedised thermal imaging camera of Cambridge-based Thermoteknix to monitor temperature variations in the blasts within the crater and the resulting plume.
Thermoteknix’s MIRICLE TB2-30 camera is calibrated for temperature measurement in the harshest of environments under the most extreme vibration conditions.
The same camera has already been used on Formula 1 and Indycar race cars and most recently in several ‘Aegis’ Ballistic Missile Defence tests."
