LCROSS shepherd arrives at the Cape

Northrum Grumman's LCROSS Shepherd vehicles, that will guide, record, and follow the Centaur impactor into it's eventual target, while hundreds of thousands peer through devices, both passive and amplified a quarter million miles away, has arrived at Kennedy Space Center, shown here at the Astrotech payload processing facility. After mating with it's co-passenger, the equally eagerly anticipated Lunar Reconaissance Orbiter, the Atlas-Centaur boost still has an official launch opportunity no earlier than April 24.
